
Kadugannawa Railway Museum
The new Kadugannawa Railway Museum was declared open by Minister Kumara Welgama on the 27th of December 2014 for the 150th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Railway. A memorial ticket was issued free of charge & a memorial stamp, a book & a Video disk also was issued. The ceremony was held with the presence of about 200 invitees & public. Many old locomotives, equipment & machines can be found here & more stuff is on the way for the 2nd & 3rd phases of the museum.
The railway line from Rambukkana to Kadugannawa was blocked by the landslides on the previous day. But workers managed to clear the track on time for the guests to arrive who arrived on the viceroy special train. Public can now visit the railway museum & the ticket will be Rs.20.
