Sachindra Umesh reporting about the haputale landslide which took place today(25). Night Mail (up) with Class M6 796 (pilot loco) & Class M6 783 (train loco) caught up on landslide near tunnel 38, Haputale, early morning today. M6 796 seems to have plowed through the landslide. Army personal doing a commendable effort to clear the debris in inclement rain. Debris up to the headlight initially , and covering much of the front bogie. The railway track seems ok . And the train, incredibly, seems on track.
