
Class M1, the first Diesel Electric locomotive of Sri Lanka at Kadugannawa Railway Station
The Railway Museum in Kadugannawa built by Sri Lanka Railways with Chinese Funds will be opened on 27th December 2014 for the 150th anniversary of Sri Lanka Railways. This museum will be a resource for both locals & foreigners to discover the history of the Railway Services of Sri Lanka.
These constructions are done in an area of 6 acres in Kadugannawa & there will be many old locomotives & souvenirs of Railway Services. Most of the locomotives are now transported to the Kadugannawa railway station.
